A Fine Arts Summer Adventure into Narnia (E13)
[00:00:00] For the last few years, I've been doing collaborations with the wonderful homeschool providers, Alicia Gratehouse and her daughter, Olivia Gratehouse of Masterpiece Society, and Dachelle McVey of Literary Adventures for Kids. Last Christmas we did What The The Dickens, a Christmas Carol Tea Time with Dachelle, Gena, Alicia, and Olivia.
And last year, about this same time we did an event called Spring Into an Epic Summer Adventure Into Middle Earth. Today, I'm excited to share a new event we have planned that's coming next Monday. It's called Spring Into an Epic Summer Adventure into Narnia. And we'll be live each day for an hour from May 20th through 22nd, 2024.
Let's talk all about it today.
If you are a homeschooler looking for ways to easily and affordably include a quality music education in your homeschool, you've come to the right place. This is the Music in Our Homeschool podcast. [00:01:00] I'm Gina Mayo, homeschooling mom of eight and music teacher for over 30 years.
Mark your calendars for May 20th through 22nd, 2024, and join us for an hour each day as we transport ourselves to Narnia in preparation for a summer filled with learning and excitement. We'll be diving into C. S. Lewis's classic book, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and having some fun with poetry, art, costumes, music, and more.
We'll learn about allegories in the stories, explore musical topics such as instruments and styles used to represent animals, royalty, and mythical creatures, and we'll have some poetry tea times with C. S. Lewis's poetry.
You may be wondering where you have to go to attend this amazing event. Well, here's the best part. You can join in from the comfort of your own home. We'll be streaming Spring into an Epic Summer Adventure into Narnia live to several [00:02:00] locations simultaneously. We invite you to dress in costume with us each day and feel free to bring some tea and a snack too. On May 20th, it's the Lion and Narnian Animal Theme Day. We'll do Aslan and Allegory with Alicia and Olivia. Then Gena will show you how musical instruments can be used to depict animals. And Dachelle will talk about poetic prophecies with Mr.
Beaver. Tuesday is the royalty and white witch theme day. Alicia and Olivia will talk about Jadis the deceiver.
